jQuery is a Javascript library that we use on most projects. jQueryUK is a conference with presentations and exhibitors closely related to front-end web development. By attending these events we hear what the people building the tools of tomorrow have in the pipeline allowing us to align ourselves with the powerful new developments and effectively hit the ground running when they become normal.

We were lucky enough to get chatting to an attendee who works at HMRC. Obviously there is a huge cross-over of both our user bases so this was a good opportunity to chat about standards. We follow a rule to use the same terminology as HMRC when building tax tools.

Highlights from the presentations were Alice Bartlet (Front-ender at Gov.uk), Addy Osmani (Google Chrome Dev tools) and Mark Otto (Co-founder of Bootstrap).
